Walker's Just Watch It Sweepstakes

SONY PICTURES TELEVISION

SITUATION INTERACTIVE

MIKE JACKSON

In August 2018 getTV launched a sweepstakes to encourage viewers to tune in to "Walker, Texas Ranger" weekdays. During episodes throughout the month of August a code was shown in lower thirds on the screen. A viewer could then either enter by texting the code to a specific number or be entering through the online website. We gave away four weekly prizes of a $100 Amazon gift, and pulled one name for the grand prize which was a Sony 4K Entertainment system which included a 4K TV, 4K Blu ray player, and 4K sound bar.

In the end, we received 50,935 sweepstakes entries and were able to increase viewership by 15% in Household and 12% in Total Viewers in just one month making this one of getTV's most successful marketing campaigns.

I was the main account/project manager for this project and worked closely with the team at Situation Interactive in order to create and execute the sweepstakes. In addition I designed print ads and banners as needed. We supported the sweepstakes with on-air initiatives, print ads, programmatic banner ads, and promotion on our main website and social channels.

We created a simple one page website that described the sweepstakes at the top and then had a form to enter at the bottom. Users could enter once daily, up to 5x per week as the codes were only shown on weekdays.

Working with a designer, Mike Jackson, we developed banners for several aspects of marketing for the campaign. We created banners that were posted to social media, banners that lived on the getTV website, banners that appeared in our email newsletter, and our favorite animated programmatic banners for distribution throughout the web.

Print Ads

I actually designed myself two print ads for publication in Closer Magazine and Dish Magazine that promoted the sweepstakes and explained how to enter.
